Brick pavers fade fast here. The sun bleaches the colour out of the surface, the rain feeds the growth in the joints, and a driveway that looked sharp when it was laid goes a little more grey every year.
Sealing is how you hold onto a clean. The pavers get cleaned first at full pressure, then sealed, so the colour stays put and the growth has a harder time coming back.
One thing we'll say straight before anything else: sealing follows cleaning. It's never a substitute for it. Sealing over dirt just locks the dirt in.

Cleaning Comes First. Every Time.
Sealing isn't a shortcut past cleaning. Whatever is on the paver when the sealer goes down stays there, locked under a coat that's meant to last. Algae, stains, growth in the joints, all of it.
So the pavers get cleaned first, at 3000 to 4000 PSI. That's the high pressure end of our equipment, and hard surfaces like concrete, brick and pavers are exactly where it belongs. The clean brings the colour back. The seal is what keeps it.
What Sealing Actually Does
Two jobs. It holds the colour, and it slows the growth coming back.
Florida sun fades brick the same way it fades paint, and a sealed surface holds its colour longer than a bare one. The joints between the pavers, where sand sits and growth starts, are harder for algae to get established in once they're sealed.
What it doesn't do is make the driveway maintenance free. This is Florida. Growth comes back eventually on everything. Sealing slows it down, it doesn't switch it off, and we won't tell you otherwise.
Do You Need It?
Honest answer: not everyone does. If your pavers are holding their colour and the joints stay clean between washes, you can wait.
Sealing earns its keep on pavers that fade fast or green up fast. Full sun bleaches them quicker. Shade holds the damp that growth likes. Either way, the cycle of clean, fade, clean again is what sealing stretches out.

Questions We Get Asked
Do I really need to seal my pavers?
Not always, and we'll tell you straight. If the colour is holding and the joints stay clean, wait. If the driveway fades fast or greens up within months of a clean, sealing is what stretches that cycle out. The estimate is free either way.
Can you seal my pavers without cleaning them first?
No. Sealing goes over a clean surface or it locks the dirt in, and that's worse than doing nothing. Cleaning comes first, then the seal. We quote the two together so the whole job runs in the right order.
Will sealing stop the weeds and algae in the joints?
It slows them down. Sealed joints are harder for growth to get started in, but this is Florida and nothing switches the weather off. Expect the growth to take a lot longer to come back, not to never come back.
How long does paver sealing last?
It depends on the pavers, the sun they get and the traffic they carry. A shaded walkway and a full sun driveway age differently. Send Matt a photo of your surface and he'll give you a straight answer for your job, not a brochure number.
My pavers were cleaned recently. Can you just seal them?
Maybe, if the clean was recent and done properly. Call and describe it, or send the form. If they're genuinely clean we can talk about sealing straight away. If they're not, we'll say so, because sealing over grime helps nobody.
